Pedders Comfort Gas Shock Absorbers with Velocity Responsive Damping The unique Velocity Responsive Damping (VRD) system is ideal for people seeking higher levels of performance either to improve aspects of their older vehicles or match the race-bred technology of newer cars. The key to the VRD system is a newly developed VRD valve featuring a micro orifice located in the shock absorber piston through which the oil flow is controlled resulting in a progressive shock response rate throughout the full range of shock travel. The passage is extremely narrow enabling oil to flow freely at low shock speeds but restricting the flow at higher speed rates when oil velocity increases. The end result is the most responsive shock absorber currently available on the market. SPRINGS The primary function of springs, wether they be Leaf, Coil or Torsion Bar, is to absorb the shocks that are created when driving over irregular road surfaces and maintain correct downward pressure on the road for optimum tyre/road surface contact. The spring rate or stiffness must be matched to the weight of the car and the weight of the other suspension components. The handling of most vehicles is substantially improved by increasing the original spring rate to an optimum rate which maximises tyre adhesion while reducing body roll. The very nature of how a brake works requires that some dust be generated to avoid rotor vibration (shimmying). The EBC pad creates less dust and dust is more easily washed off than most. DOT-4 Brake Fluid General purpose glycol fluid with wet boiling point of 260°C/500°F for most modern motorcycle and automotive brake systems. CANNOT be mixed with Dot 5 silicone fluids. BF-307 A highly refined DOT 4 based Glycol fluid that has less tendency to cause vapour lock. Please remember that once you open this container it will start to degrade so it is important to use it, seal your vehicles brake system and discard the remainder of the can due to shelf life issues. CANNOT be mixed with Dot 5 silicone fluids. DOT-5 Brake Fluid Unlike Glycol fluids, silicone does not damage or stain paintwork and is fitted to some high quality US built motorcycles. It is IMPERATIVE to check your owners manual and NOT to mix this fluid with Glycol fluids (as above) otherwise damage can occur to hydraulic seals and your entire brake system.
